Delna was raised in Mumbai,
India, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University
of Mumbai. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art
History from Wellesley College, Massachusetts, and a Masters
of Fine Arts degree in oil painting from American University
in Washington DC.
Delna’s paintings have been exhibited in several locations
throughout the United States, some of which are the Katzen
Art Center in Washington D.C., the Delaware Center for Contemporary
Arts in Wilmington Delaware and the Queens Museum, New York.
She has had solo shows in Washington D.C. and in Virginia.
In India, Delna has exhibited her work at Gallery Art Motif
in New Delhi, and in Mumbai her work has been shown by Cymroza
Art Gallery, Gallery Beyond and Art Musings Gallery. She was
one of the artists represented by Gallery Art Motif at the
India Art Summit, 2009.
Delna is currently on the faculty of the Smithsonian Institution,
Washington DC and at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia.
She has lectured at the Prince of Wales Museum in Mumbai on
Appreciating Abstract Art . One of Delna’s paintings
is in the 2010 SPAN Calendar published by the Public Affairs
Section of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi.
Her work is in private collections in the United States, India
and England.
