Born
in 1966. Painter and print-maker, Vishakha studied Fine Art
at the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai.
She was awarded a National Scholarship
by the Government of India in 1995, the National Award in
the 41st National Exhibition of Contemporary Art in 1998,
and a Research Grant by the Lalit Kala Akademi in 2001. She
received Honourable Mention in the 4th and 6th International
Print Biennials held at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, in 1997 and
2004.
She has held solo shows of her
work, and participated in group shows in India and overseas.
Her work is in the collection
of the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, the Lalit
Kala Akademi, New Delhi and Lucknow, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal,
the Ostrobothnian Museum,Finland, the Maulana Azad Centre
for Indian Culture, Cairo, and several other public and private
collections. Vishakha lives and works in Bhopal.
