M.F. Husain
Born in 1915. A self taught artist,
Husain was a member of the Progressive Artists Group in Mumbai.
He has participated in numerous shows including exhibitions at the
Royal Academy of Arts, London, and the Tate Gallery, London. The
Government of India has awarded him the Padma Shree, the Padma Bhushan,
and the Padma Vibhushan. Several books have been published on the
artist and his work.
