Born in 1934. Studied Painting
and Printmaking at MS University, Baroda, and Printmaking
at Pratt Institute and Pratt Graphic Art Center, New York
under Fulbright and JDR III Grants. Recipient of several awards
including two National Awards and a gold medal
at the International Print Biennale, Florence, Italy in 1967.
Taught painting at MS University, Baroda from 1959 to 1992.
His works are in the collection of the National Gallery of
Modern Art, New Delhi; MOMA, New York; the Smithsonian Museum;
the Dusseldorf
Art Museum; and the British Museum. Has written on art, printmaking,
photography and folk art traditions for several publications.
