Born in 1937. Studied at the College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. Received the West Bengal State Lalit Kala Akademi award for Graphic Arts in 1969, and the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1971. Has participated in several international biennales. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections. A retrospective of his work was held in 2007 and a book was published on the artist and his work.
