Born in 1935. Studied at the College of Art, Delhi. Worked at the Atelier Nord, Norway. Received the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1970. Has shown widely in India and abroad in solo and group exhibitions. Was professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, where he taught from 1963-1992. His work is represented in several public and private collections.
