Born in 1941. Graduated from the College of Art, New Delhi in 1964. Recipient of National Awards from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1980, 1981 and 1984; the AIFCS award in 1973 and 1975; the L. N. Gupta Memorial Award in 1988; the Hyderabad Art Society Award for graphics in 1976; and the ‘Kala Vibhushan’ by AIFACS in 1997. Joined the Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, as Head of the Art Department in 1967. His work is represented in several public and private collections within the country and overseas, including the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Lalit Kala Akademi, the Kunst Museum, Dusseldorf, and the Peabody Essex Museum, USA.
